:PRIMARY RESOURCES
Educating the Wholehearted Child (read my notes here) is my favorite resource for our homeschool. It has revolutionized my thinking and approach to learning and teaching. Learning is a natural process that should flow as freely as play. Children are born curious. The image of God in them is complete: they are not blank slates to be programmed with our sense of knowledge. They need freedom, wise feedback and support to creatively explore and discover truth themselves.
Discipline is something practiced throughout life and is not focused into the learning process any more than anything else. It should be considered a natural part of life that is not isolated in education and therefore should not make learning feel uniquely burdensome.
